Day 796: Surprise Visitors!

I love surprises, especially when they're visits from family. Auntie Angie came through the other day for a night, and we went out for drinks with Momma....
....and then went back to our place to hang out a bit, and play with toys, until it was time to put me to bed. Night night!

Days 794-796: Summer is OK, Even When It's Insanely Hot

One important element in keeping cool on hot days: shades!
Also, wind helps -- here's one way to create your own.

Day 793: Get This Kid a Scooter!

Max let me borrow his scooter today. That thing rules! I think I need one. And also some helmet lessons. I think maybe I don't have the hang of that just yet.

Days 787-792: Boys Weekend

So Momma went away last weekend on a boat or something, so I spent the weekend with Daddy. We went up to the house with our friend Jason, aka Bro, and the weather was pretty great. Things weren't so different in the sense that I ate some meatballs, and threw lots of rocks, and woke up with the first birds, but I also learned to drive, fell over like a million times while running in the woods and climbing on rocks, and didn't bother with nearly as many annoying diaper changes. Here are some highlights.
The motorcycle at the playground. VROOOOOOOOM!
Ok, I've got the horn part mastered, but which one makes this thing actually move?
Please, more rocks? Also, I did some exploring up the creek, and only fell in once!
Monkey bars! I could use a boost here, people.
Just going to adjust these mirrors so I can see in my blindspot and then we'll be off.

Every dude carries his share of the groceries.

And finally, just out for a hike in search of bears with my Bro!

Day 786: Kitties!

You never know what you might find in the country -- like this here adorable kitty! He was really nice and even not that dirty for a cat that lives in a barnyard with some ponies and goats. There's also a rooster and I knew this kitty was my friend when he chased that thing away.

Days 781-785: Pardon the Interruption

I know. I hear you. You miss me! And I miss you. But I'm very busy in the summer, what with scrambling from Brooklyn to the mountains and back, and all the playgroups and playgrounds. Also, my assistant has been busier than normal and is neglecting his duties. He's been warned.

This is me last weekend on a hike to a waterfall. See that nice clear pool in the background? Daddy adn then Momma both took off their shoes and went in there! They said it was cold. I would have gladly gone in anyway but I wasn't allowed. Apparently I can't swim. Whatever.

Day 780: Weather is Confusing

This weather business is very confusing. All along I've been hearing about about the famous four "seasons," which are allegedly predictable and follow a certain pattern, year after year. The idea, as I understand it, is something like this:

Spring: Flowers! Rain!
Summer: Pools! Trips! Dad complains a lot.
Fall: Leaves! Football! Chilly nights!
Winter: Snow! Mom complains a lot.

But this year, winter was mostly warm with no snow and summer has been occasionally cold -- but also sometimes insanely hot.

Mother Nature, please sort yourself out! I'm so confused. It's hot one day, cold the next. I don't know when to wear shorts and when to put on a coat. I'm afraid to put away my winter votes in case you decide it's time for some snow.

Days 778-779: I Forgot to Post These!

Man, time flies in the summer. There are just so many trips and activities! I forgot to share these photos from our trip to visit Mom's friend Jen and her family in Maryland a couple weekends ago. That's me, on the the slide, perhaps about to knock over my friend Grace. And down below that's her sister Sophia. Nice girls, with a cool yard full of toys. I'd ask for one of those awesome playsets for my house in Brooklyn but I think we'd have to annex some yards first.

Days 774-777: Me and Leo

Had a good time hanging out with my pal Leo this weekend. We went for a ride on some flying bikes at the playground...
Hid in this box and scared people!
Climbed everything we could find -- including a few things we were actually allowed to climb!
And went for a couple walks to look for bears. I'm starting to get annoyed with these scaredy cat bears that are always hiding from me. Come out, bears! I mean you no harm!

Day 773: PJs!

Pajamas are so comfortable. Why don't more of you people wear them around all day?

Day 772: Animals!

My love of puppies is pretty well established. Kitties too. But did you know I was also a friend of turtles? And also giraffes? Well, I am! See!
(Note: if you're wondering, giraffes like crackers. I also like crackers.)

Day 771: More Cute Photos! Of Me!

These aren't really in any particular order. Really, they're completely out of order, but I don't really understand the technical stuff too well so I'll just go with the cards I'm dealt.
When it's rainy and awful out, you get creative. Literally. Mom took me to a cool art class yesterday and I made a cool drum, and some maracas! Max was there too. See!
This is not Minnesota, despite the shirt. It's Florida, at the beach. Those are flowers in my hair. Why? I have no idea!
When we got back from Aunt Jenny's on Sunday we went to the store to buy yummy foods for me to eat. I couldn't really wait to get home to eat this apple, though. Later, I ate cheese!

Days 768-770: Home, At Last!

You wouldn't know it from these photos, both taken at Mum and Papa's house, in Florida, but I'm finally home, in Brooklyn. It's been a crazy, fun two weeks of traveling around seeing all kinds of family -- Grandad and Grandmom, Aunties Claire, Mary and Stephanie, Mum and Papa, and then Aunt Jenny, Uncle, Cousin Emma and even Cousin Eric for a minute or two. I think that's it for the traveling, except for going to the house over the weekend. It's nice to be home, and to see my friends and neighborhood puppies, but the weather could have been a little more cooperative. After all that sun and warmth in Florida, it's kinda mean for the weather to be so wet and gross here. We can't even use the yard and I'm afraid we're in danger of losing it to the mosquitos, slugs and snails. Also the squirrel that eats flowers. Bad squirrel!

Days 764-767: Goodbye, Florida

Back in Brooklyn now after a long and awesome trip to Florida. I saw three Aunties, plus Mum,and Papa. I even got to spend a few days alone without the parents, and that was really fun. Thanks to Mum and Papa for all the fishing, swimming, and the trip to the zoo. Also for buying me a bag of rocks to throw into the water! I hope I didn't scare away all the dolphins.

Goodbye for now, Florida. I'll be back soon!
