Days 702-703: Peek-a-Boo!

Well, hello there. I was just practicing my headstands. Daddy's gone for a few days, so it's just me and Momma holding down the fort. I think we're going up to the house this weekend with some friends. I sure hope so -- it's bear season and I'm ready to hug some of those adorable fat fellas!

Days 696-701: I'm Still Here

Space ride!
Wow, I disappeared on you guys there, didn't I? Well, I'm still here. Just been busy. And sleepy. As you can see. Also, my team of photographers seems to have been distracted of late. But I'll crack the whip and get them in line. I did go to Chuck E. Cheese last week with Mom and that was cool. It's a big place full of games and kids and pizza. All in all, a good place to have in the neighborhood for rainy or cold days. Here are some pictures she took of me there...
Me on the carousel!

Day 695: Mixin' It Up!

Notice something different? Like, everything! That's because I'm mixing it up. It's time to redecorate around here! Enough of those polka dots, and the browns and tans. It's spring, even if it feels like summer! So that means blues and greens. And a new layout. Maybe even some new fonts, once I figure those out!

Hope y'all like it.

Day 695: Backyard buddies

Just another lazy afternoon, kickin' it in the yard with my buddies -- aka snack time.

Day 694: Pool party!

Okay, I was wrong. Here's a picture. I call it "Everybody into the pool!"

Days 689-694: I Blame the Weather

Sorry to disappear on you but it's been so nice outside that I forgot about my technical duties. Like everyone else I'm a little freaked out that summer arrived in March but I'm going to take advantage of it anyway but putting in good time in the yard and at the playground. I've been so busy running around, in fact, that I don't even have any pictures of me outside. I'll have to ask Mom. But in the meantime, here I am in one of our sweet new club chairs at the house. I think I'm raising my hand here to get attention from my server.

Days 687-688: Gettin' Stoopid

When it's warm in Brooklyn, people sit outside on the stoop. The stoop is part of the neighborhood social scene. You just sit there, sip on 40 ouncers of milk, and talk to your pals. This is me and Leo, last week. We actually don't hang on the stoop much because I have a backyard with a pool (see photo), and because I don't think any adultwould trust us to actually sit here safely for more than 30 seconds or so. I know I'm always one PUPPY! away from dashing down those stairs!

Days 683-686: So many hats

It's no secret: I love hats. The more unusual the better. In fact, the only hats I don't really like are the plain old hats my parents usually try to put on my head -- ball caps, simple knit caps, that sort of thing. I'm not sure why I like a little bit more of an exotic lid, but maybe it's because it's not easy for us little guys to stand out short of wearing a superhero costume and in Brooklyn every other kid is wearing one of those. Here are three pictures from the past few days. I especially like the one with the helmet and the striped longjohns. I look like the cartoon version of a tiny Austrian World Cup skier.

Day 682: Growing up Fast

One of the biggest frustrations of being small is that you have all these thoughts in your head and the only way to get them out is to start a blog. It's hard to live in a world of talkers when you can't talk. Well, I've turned a corner! I am no longer only yelling single words, and sometimes pairs of words, but I'm fully deploying sentences these days! Some of them might obey the laws of caveman grammar -- "Play toy!" "Where go?" -- but others are fully diagrammable. "There's a bird!" or "Look, an aypane!" The newest one is pretty specific and probably not all that useful in most situations: "No, no! No throw book at Max." It's probably worth noting that we're just about at the stage where my parents need to be careful what they say out loud unless they'd like it repeated, loudly, in unpredictable situations.

Days 681-682: A Preview of Things to Come

Next winter -- if there is a winter -- I'm totally going to take up snowboarding. Here's what it will look like, only I'll be a little bigger and one would hope the board would be a little smaller. Also, I could probably go for a slightly better fitting helmet. But other than that, this is what I will look like when shredding: Cool, calm, and collected. Now which way are the jumps?

Day 680: Did somebody say Easter?

Because I'm ready for some gifts! And candy! Oh, is that right? I'm too early. Oh, well. Got the ears ready.

Days 678-680: A tale of two worlds

It was weird to be sitting in that igloo less than 24 hours after being in the pool in Florida with Auntie Steph and Mama. And impossible without those giant metal birds we all know as "aypanes." Today's a little chilly but it's warming up outside. I think that might have been my first and last igloo of the winter. Time to get some hip waders for mud season, though at my size I could probably improvise with a pair of grown-up-sized rubber boots and some duct tape.

Days 676-677: Snow!

Snow is like the Halley's Comet of weather. It only comes once a decade or so. But it sure is fun when it does come. We actually got a decent accumulation up at the house this week while we were all gone, and about half of it was gone by the time we arrived, but there was still enough to make a pretty sweet igloo and snow fort with Dad. It has outer walls and a stick fence and tomorrow I'm going to go into the woods and try to capture a wild wolf that I will train to be the lead dog on my sled team. I figure he'll be good and ready by the next time it snows, roundabout 2019 or so.

Days 673-675: More hats

My fascination with many hats is well established by this point. This is "Daddy's hat," a weird one he sometimes wears when it's snowing. I like the way the world looks through the special glasses -- so green! -- but it's a little heavy to wear around for long. This photo is a little out of context since I'm actually at Mama and Papa's in Florida and Dad's in some place called Wales, which I guess is where all those giant fishes live in the winter.
