Days 271-273: Sports!

I love sports! Sports are the best. Here are some of my favorite teams, represented in clothing. And there's my piano back there. I think I need to get back to playing now. I'm getting good.

Day 270: Snow!

Lots of it! Not pictured in this photo here, but trust me: big piles! Taller than me! I like this snow; it makes the city look nice and pretty. And you can build little eskimo houses and make snowballs to throw at Moms. The only problem is I don't have a waterproof snowsuit so I can't play in it. Right now I only have this monkey suit. And we all know monkeys don't do well in the snow.

Day 269: Freestylin'

Sometimes I like to grab a cracker and freestyle a little. You can tell by the hat that I was doing this when Dad wasn't home. But it matched my outfit a little better.

Days 267-269: Movin' On Up

Doing a lot of standing these days, as you can see. Standing behind my walker, standing behind my sweet new keyboard, standing behind the foot thingy that goes with the grown-up chair, standing while attempting to climb parent legs.... I'm not walking yet, but I will. Sooner than you think!

Day 266: Tasty snacks

I'm eating a lot of different foods these days -- bananas, pears, apples, carrots, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, crackers -- I even ate a meatball. Oh, and chicken! I ate chicken! (It was just okay.) But one of my favorite snacks is the remote control. I also like to eat iPhones, and table edges, and books, and the floor, and towels, and especially paper. Nothing is more delicious than a Con Ed bill, except maybe an issue of In Style. Yum!

Day 266: Mohawk!

Look, my hair looks sort of like Dad's! Ha!

Days 262-266: Oops!

I forgot to update the site this week. Sorry about that! My excuse is that it's very cold and my tiny little fingers are too stiff to type. Either that or I got busy. I can't remember which. I also can't remember if anything exciting happened this week, so I guess that means nothing did. One day I wore my track suit, and played with this ball -- training for my future as a soccer pro, and also for all the photo shoots that lifestyle will involve. Here's one of my favorites.

Day 261: This is how I feel about naps

I'll gladly drink the bottle and rest a second here in this cozy chair, with this nice warm blanket, but don't for a second think I'm going to actually sleep. I'm just not interested in naps, thank you very much.

Day 260: Family portrait, laptop edition

Mom's magic video box has a little camera with a flash that I have to say is a little unforgiving. I mean, I am fair-skinned, but this picture makes me look like a pasty little Irish child who sleeps in a peat bog. This is all of us tonight before bath time. Bath time!

I threatened to crawl a bit today, but gave up again. I'd still rather stand. I am learning to throw things, not far just yet, but soon. Soon! Throwing is fun and makes me want to screech like a monkey-bird, which is an animal I made up. I'll show you my impression next time you stop by.

Day 259: Oldie but goodie

I found this shot while looking through some Christmas pictures. Can't believe I forgot to post it before, even if it makes me look a little silly. I guess this is the sort of thing Italian ladies wear when riding in convertibles. Also, ladies in Iran. Only probably not Burberry. That's just how I roll.

Day 258-259: Baby shades!

At last, I can stop squinting -- now that I've got these baby shades. Yes, they make me look a little like a bug, but I'm okay with that because it is now possible to look towards the sun. Don't worry, I won't look AT the sun. I'm cute, but not crazy.

Day 257: Bye, bye, Wyoming

So it's our last day in Wyoming - the last night, actually - and I think I'll miss it here. It's snowy and cold but not cold like it is back home. And it's a fine place to buy leather goods, hats, boots, and things with moose, elks, and bears on them. If you're ever in the market for a painting of a moose in a frame made out of branches, or pretty much anything made out of antlers, I recommend Jackson. I also recommend it for the beautiful mountains and friendly people. Thanks to all my friends at the Kids Ranch for playing with me. I'll see all my New York friends tomorrow. Or maybe Sunday because I think it's a long way home. I hope we're not taking the bus.

Day 257: What does "stuffed" mean?

You can probably tell by my expression here but this elk is making me a little nervous. Word on the street is that he is "stuffed," whatever that means. Dad said he didn't want to get into the details of what goes into stuffing, because I might find it upsetting, but frankly I find the whole thing upsetting. It's just so...big. And antler-y. Also I think he's mad that my hat has fur on it.

Days 255-256: Meatballs!

So this is exciting: I ate a new food! In fact, a new food group! It's called meat and I'm a little fuzzy about where "meat" comes from but it was in the form of a ball that got all mushed up and then I ate it. Yum! Soon I might not even need mushy meat because I also now have teeth! Two of them. They're both on the bottom, so not as useful as all those teeth you large people have, but it's a start!

Meanwhile, we're still in Wyoming. Saw some mooses. Moose? Meese? Anyway, saw some big brown animals. And it snowed some more. Both here and back home. So we delayed our trip another couple days. New York, you'll just have to make it until Saturday without me now.

Day 244: Miss me?

So here we are out in the big mountains and it's not snowing and -- just like last time -- as soon as we leave a ginormous snowstorm heads for Brooklyn! Of course there's plenty of snow here already, and it's probably good that we're missing Snowpocalypse Part 2 because I think the snow would be taller than me and that might be weird. I hope New York doesn't miss me too much!

Days 242-243: Wyoming!

Here we are, in Wyoming. We almost didn't make it -- they had to reopen the giant metal bird so we could run on, and then they lost our luggage so I had to wear K-Mart PJs -- but we're here. Sure is cold. But also pretty. I had a fun day at the Kids' Ranch today. It was me and a bunch of other tiny people just throwing things around and bouncing in in bouncy chairs.

Days 240-241: Young Man, Going West

Mom and I are off to Wyoming first thing in the morning. I hear it's cold there. But I'm not worried. Also I have learned to smirk, as you can see. See you all out west!

Days 236-239: Learner's Permit

I'm all about mobility these days. I'm not yet actually mobile, but I'm working on it in all kinds of ways. For instance this rocket car here. It rolls! And I think if I can figure out how to turn it on it also flies. I'm doing a lot of standing too, and taking some very careful steps behind my plastic mailbox lawnmower. Dad left today, which is sad. But Mom and I are getting on another giant metal bird to fly out to meet him in some faraway place called Wyoming. It's very snowy there, and there are wolves and elk and sleeping bears. But not on the part where the people slide around on boards. I'll try to write more often but it's hard to find time. I'm on the go!

Day 235: No snow in Stowe

It's kind of a bummer when you go on a ski vacation and there's no snow. Or that's what I heard, from my parents. I don't know how to ski yet. But I do know it's kinda gross and muddy out, and not pretty and snowy. I'd be more irritated if I could walk and had to get my booties dirty. Since there's no actual skiing up here in Vermont, we went to take in the local sights. Stop number one: Ben & Jerry's! That's me on the left. I'm Ben. Or Jerry. I can't tell those hippies apart.

Day 235: Happy New Year!

I should have said this yesterday, but Happy New Year! Since I haven't even been around a year yet I'm a little new to this custom. Frankly, it seems weird to celebrate a new year so soon when I'm not even one yet. But I'm easy so I go along with your strange traditions. I was told that another of those is to make a resolution, or even more than one. So I've been thinking about some resolutions of my own. I can't possibly narrow them down to one, but a few I'm willing to commit to are the following:

I will not crawl. It seems like a waste of time. As I said before, you giants don't crawl. Why should I?
I will not nap unless you really make me by introducing your crafty tricks like cars and baby backpacks that you wear on the front.
I will eat lots of bananas. Also sweet potatoes.
I will grow some teeth. That way I can broaden my palate a little beyond things that can be gummed.
If I see Mitch McConnell I will spit up in his hair. John Boehner too.
I hope to expand my vocabulary a little. I feel I've just about reached the limits of what I can do with DA! and BA! and AH! and PFFFFT!
Mom says I should add 'no more whining' but I'm not really to commit to that. Sorry.

Obviously I should also get to the gym more but that's pretty much everyone's resolution every year. In fact, if someone tells you that's their resolution you should say, "That's implied. What else you got for me?"

Happy New Year. I can't wait to see you all again soon.

Days 232-234: Vermont

Greetings from Vermont. I guess they used to call this the Great White North but it sure isn't very white right now. It's warm - warmer even than Florida! - so the snow all melted and now it's mostly brown and muddy. This seems to upset my parents, especially my dad. They wanted to put these boards on their feet and slide around. I can see why they might do that - it looks fun! Now we're stuck trying to find things to do because it's very muddy and mucky out and apparently the whole point of Vermont is to be indoors. Today we went to Burlington, ate some cheese and drove around. I also spent a lot of time dropping toys on the ground and tearing up magazines.
