Day 302: Bonus pic!

Okay, before bed I had to post this one. It's not actually from this trip but I just found it and, well, what can I say: It's just too cute. You can see my new teeth -- all two of them!

Day 302: Night, Night

This bath is just about over and it's time for bed. I'm worn out from all the splashing. Night, night.

Day 302: Snow

Oh, boy, is there a lot of snow out here at Lake Tahoe. It seemed like we had a lot back home in Brooklyn but you people complaining about snow should shut your traps and check out how much there is out here. It's like five times as tall as a regular tall person. This is just one little pile, on top of many other piles. If you were to put me on my own shoulders, and then stack like 56 other mes on shoulders on top of the me on my shoulders you still wouldn't have enough mes to match the height of the snow.

Day 302: New Friends

This is baby Grace. She is 5 months old. That's like half my age. She's nice, and is fun to play with because she can't really move away when I poke her in the face and pull her hair.

Days 299-302: Big Sky!

Hello there? Did you miss me? I'm at Lake Tahoe, where it was VERY snowy and is now VERY sunny. So many things have happened it's hard to remember exactly what. Oh, I know -- I ate French fries! I also took my bath splashing to a new level -- to an art form, really. Stay tuned for videos. And I hung out with some other nice tiny humans, including a baby named Grace who is even smaller than me. And of course I have reached 300 days. That's a lot of days! Since I have been depriving you of photos for a few days now, I'll post a few more tonight.

By the way, The King's Speech was fine and all, but it was hardly the best movie of the year. Obviously, that was Babies. And after that probably Social Network.

Day 298: Giant Metal Birds!

Ok, suckers, I'm off for the West Coast! Actually, I'm here already (or is it there?). I'm not sure I'm a little confused and jet lagged. Tonight I stayed up until 7, which is really 10. I think. I need to not think about it that way. It's just 7. Bedtime! Night night.

Day 297: Bonus pic!

Mom and Auntie Steph thought this was a funny joke, to put a tiny basketball in my jumpsuit. I guess because it looks like I'm pregnant. But everybody knows babies can't have babies. Except on MTV. And sometimes in Kentucky.

Days 294-297: Adios!

Hi there. And bye! We're heading out on a big trip tomorrow -- I don't know exactly where we're going but I think it's far away, and involves Aunts. Also snow. And cable cars. I was worried I might have some trouble with the flying on giant metal birds part on account of my cough and runny nose but the doctor said I'm all clear to fly so off we go with a LOT of bags. Hoo-ray!

Day 293: Getting better

I'm feeling much better today -- not fully better, but at least good enough that I am no longer wallowing in self-pity. Instead I am focusing my limited energy on pulling things off the bookcase and throwing hard things against the hardwood floors in my ongoing effort to drive out the downstairs neighbors. This picture wasn't taken today, or yesterday, but I did not allow any further photography of me in an infirm state after yesterday's gruesome shot, and this one is recent so I used it.

By the way, any similarities between this towel/robe and a KKK Grand Wizard's outfit should stop at the floppy rabbit ears and whiskers. That said, maybe I won't wear it out to dinner in the neighborhood.

289-292: Sick Days

I know I haven't written much this week and I'm sorry. I'm not feeling so good. No one told me life isn't always FUN! Sometimes, your nose gets runny, and then stopped up, and you sneeze and cough and can't breathe very well and your eyes are watery and then on top of it all you're just trying to stand up in the kitchen and you fall on your face and scrape up your nose. So, yeah, this week sucks. Today I went to the doctor for the third time in a week and the man with carrot-colored hair said I needed this terrible machine that involves an uncomfortable mask -- but at least it makes me feel a little better after. And Dad reminded me that both cousin Drew and Grandma Miles use machines like this, so I'm going with it. I just have to turn Yo Gabba Gabba up a little louder I guess.

Day 288: Bath time!

One of the best parts of the day is bath time. I get to sit in this warm pool of water and splash around while chewing on rubber ducks. The only bad things about bath time are that it's over too soon, and it means bed time after. Actually most days I don't mind that last part. It's tiring crawling around trying to evade parents who want to steal my remote controls and snatch away magazines before I can eat them. Come to think of it, it's just about bath time now. Night night!

Days 287-288: Date with Ikea

Hey, look what you get if you buy a Knipsa basket: ME!

Yesterday we went to a giant blue and yellow building full of people sitting on couches, and meatballs. I guess my parents had to buy some new things for the house. They're doing a lot of moving things around. Something called "Charlie-proofing." I wonder what that's about.

Days 285-86: Check-ups

I forgot to post yesterday after I got my 9-month check-up. I don't know how often they do these things - for awhile it felt like I was at the doctor all the time; now it's hardly ever. This time wasn't so bad. They only stuck me with needles twice, which I'm not crazy about, but I think it upset Mom way more than me. Moms get upset so easily sometimes. The doctor seemed pleased with my progress. I weigh almost 22 pounds (21 and 12 ounces, to be precise), which is the 75th percentile, whatever that means. I forget my length but it's in the 90th percentile (I get an A for length!) and my head shrunk. I used to have a 90th percentile head but now it's only 75th. My head needs to get its act together. I also have two crooked teeth on the bottom and some more coming up top. The doctor was happy with my skills—crawling, pinching, babbling, pulling up — and especially my standing up with no support, which he said is a one-year milestone. I skipped some months there. At this rate I'll be driving by 3. His only complaint is that I'm not clapping. Maybe I just don't feel like anything has earned my applause. I haven't even seen The King's Speech yet.

Day 284: One more!

Some of you wanted a close-up of my Olde Time-y look, so here you go! Do those suspenders make me look fat? I think so. Now if you'll excuse me I have some newspapapers to hand out.

Day 284: Aunties!

Look who showed up last weekend. Auntie Stephanie was here for like 15 minutes and then she was gone. But we had fun in her short visit anyway. Bye bye!

Day 284: A little privacy, please

Hey there -- you with the camera. Enough with the photos. Can't you see I'm just kicking around in my diaper? I'm not styled for photography. Oh, well, if you must. One picture. Only one! Now I will return to sucking on this binky while banging remote controls on the table. Good day, sir.

Days 280-284: Cheerio!

Cheerio, mates. Just hangin' out here with my friend Alina at the Super Bowl party on Sunday. We were in bed long before the game was finished but I hear the guys in green beat the guys in black. Score one for bright colors!

Day 279: A little light reading

Stacks of magazines are also very enticing - so fun to knock over! And then read. I find Cosmopolitan to be a little shallow and pandering but I quite like Vanity Fair -- at least the pictures.

Do you like my new toupee?

Day 278: Delicious remotes

Did I already say that I love to eat remote controls? They are so tasty. Almost as tasty as iPhones!

Day 278: New Tricks

I've picked up some sweet new tricks the past week or so. For instance, crawling. I still think it's lame, and basically just a stopgap until I'm running very very fast around the house, but it comes in handy sometimes -- like when I need to get to a toy, or eat a remote control. Another cool trick is waving. See, I'm waving. HI!

Days 276-278: Chillin' With the Grandparents

So I'm back home from Florida, a very warm and sunny place. It's sunny at home, but not so warm. I'm happy to be back in Brooklyn, but I do miss Florida too -- it's fun hanging with grandparents. Papa and I like to hang out and talk about fishing sometimes -- I think here he's explaining to me the difference between a mangrove snapper and a sailor's delight. The latter sounds like one that would arrive on your hook breaded and frozen and delicious when deep fried. Yum, fried!

Days 274-275: Back at the beach

Dad had to leave town for a couple days for work so Mom and I took the opportunity to go to Florida to visit the grandparents and catch some rays. We hit the beach today, as you can see, and it was pretty nice. The water's a little cold for swimming still, but it's not cold like it is out west where Dad is. He says it's below zero. I can't count but I know that's not good. Who wants to play a little frisbee?
